Karakastek Nauryz Celebration
Here are pictures from the first Nauryz party, held today at the Karakastek orphanage. Tomorrow will be the celebration at Shelek and the party for Esik will be in April because the orphanage is under quarantine due to an influenza outbreak.

They need you now!
On December 15, 2010 Kazakhstan suspended intercountry adoptions stating a review of adoption policies was needed and there needed to be reform in the process. When word of this first broke, Kazakhstan had said that all would be well by March 2011 and dossiers would be accepted once again. It is March and nothing is happening.
The effect this will have on Kazakhstan's orphans is heartbreaking to us. In a recent Washington Times article, Andrea Poe points out that
"Even better orphanages in Kazakhstan are underfunded and must feed, clothe and shelter their charges for around three cents a day per child. The result is that orphans here tend to be less developmentally advanced than their American counterparts and are smaller due to malnutrition."
Please take a moment to watch this video and see how Two Hearts is making a difference in the lives of these children. We need your help now more than ever to continue our mission. We thank each and every person who has supported us over the years!

Donations to Karakastek
As part of our Nauryz celebration we have donated $1000 each to the Shelek, Karakastek, and Esik orphanages. The orphanage directors asked for specific items that will be purchased with the money. Karakastek requested formula, porridge, juice, yogurt, diapers and medicine. This orphanage was in desperate need of these items so the decision was made to purchase them now instead of waiting for Nauryz on the 22nd of March. The items were dropped off yesterday.
Some of the orphans that benefit from your giving.
Thank you for supporting Two Hearts. Without your support this would not be possible.
